One of my house mates' Halloween costume is an insane asylum patient and she asked me to help her create her costume.
She picked up a doll from a charity shop for £2.99 and we used a variety of materials to create the look shown below.
I stabbed her eye out using a knife, cut a section of her hair down to the scalp, ripped part of her dress and sock and back combed her hair in lopsided bunches.
Using some cotton wool I dabbed a mixture of fake blood and a little bit of soot to give her a bloody knee.
I then coloured the inside of her eye socket black and around the eye to create a demonic, hollow effect.
I contoured one of her cheek bones and under her chin/jaw line to hollow her face out a bit.
I added some soot to her hair, mainly to the ends and blended it upwards, and also added a little bit of soot to her roots.
We then took some Pure Filth in the colour Rottenstone and black soot and rubbed it all over the dress and bloomers to dirty them up!
We removed a shoe, grubbied up her hands and added a singular bloody bow to one of her bunches and voilà!
We took a similar approach to my friends vintage nightie when distressing it.
I will also be posting a description and the results once I get a good photo when she is all dressed up on Halloween!
